There’s something so appealing about a lived in space that looks collected rather than decorated, and this former YWCA summer camp turned sprawling Northern California home is a prime example. Per the Elle Decor article, the first time the couple was shown the space they couldn’t wrap their heads around the amount of work needed and just walked out, but ended up feeling a pull and that they had to own the space. I kind of feel like that about the little beach house we’re planning (hoping? the landlord still hasn’t given us a lease to sign) to move into in a few weeks, it’s like I need to live there and have become a little bit obsessed!
The thing that’s so neat about this house in my opinion is that a lot of it actually had to be built new but the end result flows so perfectly and everything looks like it’s been there forever. The decor is a great mix of flea market finds, gorgeous fabrics (there are a few from Raoul, a really amazing textile company based out of Santa Barbara) and playful accessories which creates an overall effect that looks chic but still cozy and livable. My favorite room in the house would have to be the built in window seat (a few images down). Doesn’t it look like the ideal place to curl up with a book and a cup of coffee?
