Last month my mom, sister, and a few of my girlfriends threw me the most beautiful baby shower. It was held in a friend’s backyard which ended up being the perfect venue; it had been raining for a few weeks prior so it was particularly nice to get to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather. The girls decorated with various shades of pink, and my grandmother’s (who the baby will be named after) collection of vintage teacups were at each place setting to add a fun and sentimental touch. My mom is a seriously talented florist and did all of the arrangements, which were a gorgeous mix of fresh flowers that we had picked up at the LA flower market the day before. I love arranging flowers but can never get them to look so perfect – it really is an art form, don’t you think?
After brunch we had tea and dessert (my favorite cake, Sweet Lady Jane’s Triple Berry, which was also our wedding cake) played a few games, and opened gifts. It was such a perfect day and I was so happy to get to spend time with some of my best friends before having the baby, since who knows when I’ll get the chance to see them once the baby arrives!
