When I was pregnant I pretty much lived in long cardigans like this one (and actually including this one above, it’s gotten a lot of wear) and have continued wearing them since they’re so comfy and such a perfect layering piece. I had one specific long cardi that I was particularly obsessed with while pregnant – I honestly wore it probably every since day and when I thought I had lost it and I definitely cried over it (pregnancy hormones, but also I just really loved it). Luckily I found it, rolled up in a bag in the back of Justin’s closet which he swears he didn’t do even though I’m sure not so sure since he was pretty sick of that sweater. Hmm.
Do you have a go-to fall outfit? I’d say this is one of mine, it’s the kind of thing I throw on no matter the occasion. You can add fun earrings or a cute clutch if it’s an evening event, or change out the boots for a flat pair if you’re going to be out and about doing errands. It took me a while to embrace the over the knee boot trend, but I’ve gotten so much use out of this pair of boots and this flat pair over the last few years and I really love them.
I think the key is that you need to try on a lot of different brand and styles to find a pair of OTK boots that are flattering to your shape. Some of the boots are way too tall for someone relatively short like me (I’m 5’4), and some are just the wrong color or shape. I tried on a pair of tan ones last year that looked insane on me – they were way too wide and it looked like I was wearing fishing waders. Not a cute look. This pair is from Joie from a few years ago, and unfortunately they don’t seem to have brought the style back again. It’s called the Jemima B if you want to do a little research and try to find them.
Do you have anything exciting going on this morning? I just have a little work to do, and then am planning to take Claire and Penny for a walk to the park. Claire has been sick for a week now which is really no fun at all – any tips for me on helping a sick little bub feel better? Apparently she has bronchiolitis, which is a horrible cough and a pretty fussy baby.
Hopefully you have a more fun day planned. Happy Monday ; )
