A group of girls and I went up to Ojai for the weekend to celebrate our friend Tamara’s birthday, and we had such a good time. Ojai is such a special place – it’s this completely beautiful little town surrounded by mountains with orange and olive groves growing on them, and it has a casual hippie vibe to it. It’s so nice to have somewhere that feels so different from LA that’s just a little over an hour’s drive away.
We rented a house this time which was fun, though the last few times I’ve been there we’ve stayed at Ojai Valley Inn and Spa which is one of my favorite hotels. Justin and I actually got engaged there – fun fact 😉 We didn’t have a ton of time up there for this visit but we did make the most of the time we had. We went for a nice walk into town and hung around at Topa Mountain Winery’s tasting room, which had a Christmas market and live music, with food trucks for snacks and cozy blankets for keeping warm once the sun went down after Ojai’s famous ‘Pink Moment’. On Sunday we had brunch on the patio at Noso Vita before checking out their sprawling farmers’ market where I picked up some local olive oil, flowers and veggies to take back with me.
Here are a few iPhone snaps from the weekend. Let me know if you ever go and need any suggestions on what to see and do!
I came across this stylish Aspen cabin on 1st Dibs the other day (was meant to be sourcing something for a client but I got sidetracked by all the prettiness) and wanted to share with you guys. This Peter Dunham designed cabin is just so chic yet supremely cozy looking at the same time – I feel like I could and would (and do!) want to move right in.
The key to upping the coziness factor throughout the house is the variety of different textiles and upholstered items in each room; the vintage looking blankets and pillows draped on the patio set above, the linen lampshades and fabric panels on the canopy bed, the overstuffed window seat in the family room, etc. It helps the space to feel warm and inviting even with all of the wood on the walls and ceiling throughout the space. I’m a firm believer that you can pretty much never have too many throws and pillows around the house, and this space confirms my belief.
If you’re a big Peter fan and not in LA, you can shop quite a few items from his showroom/shop Hollywood at Home here. They tend to be on the pricier side but his fabrics and vintage picks are so gorgeous that I think it’s worth the splurge for a special item or two 🙂

A few weeks ago my friend Annette and I joined Serena and Lily for a fun afternoon to check out their latest showroom/shop, situated in the newly revamped Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach. We boarded a Duffy boat for a quick tour around the harbor before heading to the new shop, where we were met and given a tour by Serena herself. I don’t know about you but I’m a huge fan of Serena and Lily so it was very exciting to meet the woman behind the brand, and to get to see their latest location and a few brand new items (like these stools, they just came out with them in this natural color, so pretty right?).
After browsing for a bit we sat down for a chic little lunch on the shop’s patio, before heading back home before traffic got too crazy. It was such a perfect little afternoon, and I highly recommend both renting a Duffy boat if you’re ever in the area, and checking out the Lido Marina Village. Happy Friday!
