InStyle recently did a feature on fashion designer Rebecca Taylor‘s Shelter Island beach house, and it really makes me want to move in/be part of her family. (You’ll know what I mean when you scroll down and see how cute her kids are!). The space features plenty of ‘beach house’ staples like whitewashed walls, furniture in natural elements and lots of blue and white, but they’re mixed in with antiques and pops of color to create a really gorgeous, personalized space. The aesthetic of the house is very reflective of her pretty, preppy, sometimes whimsical designs.
My favorite thing about this house is that it doesn’t look too perfect. Sure, it’s styled beautifully and there’s clearly been a lot of thought put into it, but it also looks livable and lived in – the kind of house where there are always plenty of guests crowded into the kitchen and you’re allowed to put your feet on the coffee table. The best kind of house, in my opinion!
